Once you've gotten to know me, you'll understand. Until then, I will have to convince you. I don't mind. It will be easy to describe working with me and the reasons for recommending me to clients. I could tell you the same reasons that every other inspector you've worked with gave you. On-time, dependable, thorough, etc... But what sets me apart?
If you were to ask people who know me, they would say that I'm honest, I care about doing things right, and that keep my word. Those would be characteristics that I would demand of anyone that I worked with, so to me it makes sense to treat people that way, friend or stranger. I believe that if you are honest, and keep your word, customers will be easy to please. I value my integrity. I don't over-promise and under-deliver. I keep my word. I expect for you to hold me to that. Expect more from me. I like to be the one that people depend on. Making someone happy, for money or not, provides a great deal of satisfaction. I take pride in my work. Earlier in life I was a painter for many years, and consider myself a knowledgeable and capable handyman. My friends like to joke that there isn't anything I can't build with 2x4's. I've designed and built my own home, and still have all ten fingers, so I take pride in that. I've been around construction my whole life. I'm an Army veteran who understands discipline and hard work. Showing up on time and performing an inspection isn't life or death, but to the client it is very important.
The client is probably not going to work with me more than once, unless you and I are both good at this, or lucky... We are usually only given one chance to treat them right, perform our work, and do what we say we will do. Once that is done, we may never see them again. I get it. One chance. Don't blow it. I will always do my best to communicate with you and keep you apprised of what's going on with our transaction. Although your client is my client, I have to provide an excellent level of service to you both. That can be accomplished by being a good communicator, showing up on time, and doing a thorough job for our client.
Once you get to know me, you'll learn that I'm honest, reliable, and trustworthy. I'll be the kind of inspector you'll keep on speed dial. At least that's my goal. Together we can succeed. All that I ask is that you give me a chance to prove myself to you. I'm confident you'll be happy that you did.
And I answer my phone.
